Who we are

What data we access

FeedFix requests only the read_products and write_products Shopify scopes.

• Products & variants — titles, descriptions, vendor (brand), product type, tags, variant options (color/size/material), SKUs, barcodes (GTINs), prices, and image URLs/dimensions, used to audit each product against Google Merchant Center and Meta Catalog feed rules.
• Writes — only when you explicitly click Apply/Approve: the product's title, description, and a feedfix.optimized metafield are updated. Every write is recorded in an audit log with its before/after values.

We do not read orders or customer data of any kind — no names, emails, phone numbers, addresses, payment details, or customer identifiers. Because FeedFix never touches Protected Customer Data, it is out of scope for Shopify's Protected Customer Data review.

What we store

• Shop settings — your audit configuration (visible-title budget, minimum description length, brand fallback, demo-mode flag).
• Audit log — before/after values for every product-copy change you approve, so changes are traceable and reversible.
• Shopify session — the offline access token Shopify issues so the app can call the Admin API on your behalf.

How we use AI

The feed audit itself runs in a deterministic, on-server rulebook — no model is involved in the scores or findings. We send only product catalog data (title, description text, variant attributes, and the rule findings) to Anthropic's Claude API to draft channel-optimized titles/descriptions and plain-English fix explanations. No customer data exists in the app to send. AI output is always shown to you for review before anything is written. When no API key is configured, a deterministic local rewrite is used and nothing leaves your server.

Data retention & deletion

When you uninstall the app (or Shopify sends a shop/redact request), we delete all data we hold for your shop: sessions, shop settings, and audit logs. We respond to the mandatory customers/data_request and customers/redact webhooks with an attestation that no customer data is held.
